The Person Behind the Plan

Providing for a family is more than a responsibility. It is a priority.

Ira Koyner is a devoted husband and father. He knows firsthand that providing for a family is more than a responsibility. The cost of day-to-day expenses, paying for several college educations, funding retirement, and providing lifetime financial support for his son with special needs are his own priorities. He is grateful to have them. These are not a burden. They are part of a rich and full life.

Financial goals are about more than obligations. They are the journey and the destination, fueled by hard work, perseverance, and success. Creating a financial plan that protects your family and secures your future does not have to be overwhelming. As your dedicated financial advisor, Ira is committed to a transparent client-advisor relationship.

He graduated with a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He has lived in Weston, Connecticut for twenty years, with his wife, three children, and a loyal English bulldog named Butter.

He named the firm Triathlon Partners because financial goals are not achieved overnight. Like the competition it is named for, the endeavor requires preparation, discipline, and endurance. The journey is accomplished at your pace, and victory is measured your way.

The Firm

Independent by design.

Not tied to a conglomerate

Triathlon Partners is independent. It is not bound to a large institution's proprietary products, platform, or rigidity. That independence means recommendations are built around your situation, not a parent company's shelf.

Open access to the market

Clients have access to more than thirty life and annuity companies, several structured note and alternative investment platforms, and dozens of issuers. The right tool for the plan, rather than the only tool on hand.

A risk manager's background

Before founding the firm, Ira spent nearly three decades trading and managing risk in foreign exchange options at major global banks. That discipline shapes how every plan accounts for volatility and the events that derail retirements.

Author of Financial Fortress

Ira is the author of the Financial Fortress book series, which lays out his core method: coordinate investments, taxes, and insurance as a single system rather than a set of disconnected decisions.
